Make the most out of your OJT Course By Omi Yageh Some students take for granted the most important part of their college life... the OJT course. OJT, Practicum or whatever your curriculum calls it, is one of the vital ingredients in becoming a successful professional. If there was a point in my college days where I can go back and do all over again it will be my OJT. We were only required to complete 40 hours in training (blame it on the Quarterm) and after completing the quota we just enjoyed the additional free time that we had. If I can do it again I would have kept on training and training. For fresh graduates, stepping out and getting a job in the real world is big challenge. Very few opportunities and large competition awaits and if you don't have a Cum Laude attached in your resume, landing that first job will be quite difficult. What narrows the difference between an honor student and an average student is the on-the-job training. So to those who are taking their OJTs, make the most out of it. List down and outline everything that is taught to you and add that to your resume. You'll be quite surprised how companies will notice and give you a chance to work for them.
